Whether in the basement or the garage, the concrete used for flooring must be stronger than that used in foundations. It’s wise to consider adding fibers to the concrete to improve its tensile strength, reduce drying shrinkage effects, and lower the risk of cracking. For balconies, the concrete must also be reinforced to prevent cracks.<\/p>\n

Typically, the basement and garage floors are poured at the same time, once the roof is covered with its final layer to prevent the finish from being damaged by rain. Balcony floors should be poured on a dry day or covered to protect against the elements.<\/p>\n
